It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sharon at the age of 76 on November 9, 2025 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Elsie (Clattenburg) and George Arthur Grinter.
Mom grew up in Tufts Cove, Dartmouth. She remained in Dartmouth where she raised her family and lived the majority of her life. Mom was taught to knit by her mother and enjoyed knitting stuff for the family. She loved her family and the extended family who called her "Nan". She was loved by so many and would do anything she could for them without questions. She fought a tough battle but got too tired to battle any longer.
She loved Christmas and spending time with all the family for the holiday. She always kept up her father's spirit and love for the holiday.
Survived by her husband, Jim; children, Roy, Roseana and Diana all from Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much; Sister, Linda (Mike) Pettipas; brothers, Roy (Janet) Grinter and Thomas Grinter; estranged sister and niece, Jeanie and Belinda Saulnier as well as lots of nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Charles Grinter.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 5 at 11am at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. A reception will take place immediately following the service. In keeping with Moms love of the color red, we would love for you to honor her by wearing something red as we celebrate her together.
