TURPLE, Wendell Freeman, “Turp” - 77, of Dartmouth, passed away on January 11, 2019 at home. Born in Eastern Shore to the Late James and Clare (Freeman) Turple. Turp was a long time Dartmouth resident and spent his career as a heavy duty diesel mechanic for various companies. He spent most of his time when he could at his camp in Pleasant Valley in Upper Musquodoboit hunting and fishing and looking after his large garden. He is survived by daughter, Jo-Anne (Michael Howard) Turple, Ottawa; son, Jimmy (Wendy) Turple, Dartmouth; sisters, Sheila (Clifford) Warden, Lyons Brook, Barbara (Gordon) Cantlay, North Field; four grandchildren, Keira Watson and Connor Watson; Ava Turple and Leah Turple; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wendell was predeceased by his loving wife, Linda (Greenough) in 2008. Memorial to be held 11 am Thursday, January 17, A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth.
