Billard, William Emanuel – 75, of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2019 in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Halifax, Bill was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Oates) Billard. Bill worked various jobs over the years, including Farmer’s Dairy, the Lord Nelson Hotel and as a security guard but Bill’s most important job was being a father to his only child, Cory, who he loved dearly.
Bill was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with his friends or playing darts and Bingo at the Senior’s Centre where he lived. He was a man who would give you the last of whatever he had, including the shirt off his back. He never complained and was always happy to chat with folks from all walks of life. Bill is survived by his son, Cory, Lr. Sackville, brother Gerry Billard (Brenda), Hants County and sisters in-law, Nadene Rose (David), Melanie Moore (Tom) and Shelley Clee (Paul). Besides his parents, Bill was pre-deceased by brother Edward “Teddy” Billard and his ex-wife and best friend Debbie Billard. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 11 am Monday, September 23, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland Street, Dartmouth. Burial will follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lr. Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Alzheimers Society.
