

Age 89 passed away peacefully in Dartmouth General Hospital June 30, 2021. Born July 11, 1931 in Carmanville, N.L., Willow was predeceased by her husband, Edward; and her daughters, Isabel (Jim Bailey), Laura; her parents, John and Laura; her 12 siblings. Willow is survived by her children, Teddy, Ola (Ron Eagles), Urbane, Brenda (John Taylor) and Gus (Nancy); 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Willow’s life was one dedicated from a young age to caring for others, from her parents, through to her children, grandchildren, and was Nanny to many children she looked after over the years. Willow was well-known to neighbours and children on Dahlia Street where she lived for 48 years. Until relatively recently, Willow was a regular walker around Lake Banook and Sullivan’s pond. She had many fond memories with her dear friend Virtue - especially watching Wrestling together at the Halifax Forum. Willow has donated her remains to the Human Body Donation Program, Department of Medical Neurosciences at Dalhousie University. A Wake will be held for her on Friday, July 9th, in A. L. Matattall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth from 6-8 p.m. She will be missed by so many.
