Adele N. Brown, 83, of Davenport passed away Wednesday April 8, 2015. Following cremation, a committal service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the Runge Mortuary by 10:30 am on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Brown was born January 12, 1932 in Davenport, the daughter of William and Ethel (Balluff) Schmitt. On February 24, 1951 she married Howard R. Brown in Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2012. She was employed at Rock Island Arsenal prior to her retirement and enjoyed crocheting afghans.
Survivors include a son, Howard W. Brown of Pulaski, NY and a brother, Donald Schmitt of Rock Island. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Neil Duncan Brown, in infancy, and a daughter, Marjorie Ann Brown-Smith.
