Bernard James Heuvelman

Bernard (Bernie) J. Heuvelman of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at age 86.

Born March 17, 1939, in Nichols, Iowa, Bernie built a life centered on family and hard work. He married his beloved wife, Nancy, on October 21, 1967, in Galesburg, Illinois, and together they shared 47 years of marriage before her passing on July 20, 2014.

A skilled handyman who could fix anything, Bernie was never happier than when he was working with his hands—whether tackling a home repair project, working in the yard, or spending time outdoors. He and Nancy shared a passion for travel, exploring destinations both across the United States and abroad, creating cherished memories from coast to coast and around the world. Bernie spent his career in the HVAC wholesale industry and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jennifer Heuvelman of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Morgan and William; and longtime partner, Beverly Cherryholmes.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
