

Beth A. Lane, 65, of Muscatine, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after complications due to pancreatic cancer. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge, IA. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the family to support neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Beth was born September 22, 1949 in Davenport; the daughter of Victor and Nola (Bergert) Meinert. She grew up in Eldridge, Iowa and attended North Scott High School. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1967. Beth went on to graduate from Eastern Iowa Community College nursing school in 1971. She married Charlie Lane on July 10, 1971 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport. She was employed at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport for twenty-seven years and then moved to Muscatine in 1996 where she worked at All American Care. She enjoyed playing piano, cooking, traveling, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Charlie, Muscatine; daughter, Brenda (Brian) Harrison, Waterloo, IA; son, Dan (Adrienne) Lane, Marshall, MN; grandchildren: Kayelee and Emme Harrison, Allan, Scott, Nola and Amelia Lane; sister, Bonnie (Ozzie) Osterberg, Eldridge and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judi Lunardi and two grandbabies. Thank you to all of her friends and family who visited her in the hospital in her final weeks. It meant so much to her to know that so many people cared!
