Betty J. Richter

Funeral services for Betty J. Richter, 88, of Davenport will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Richter passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Davenport. Betty Jane Klouda was born on December 12, 1924 in Davenport, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Wals) Klouda. On July 10, 1948 she married Glenn Richter in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 2004. She worked in data entry at the Rock Island Arsenal prior to her retirement in 1987. Betty was a member of Holy Family Church, Women of the Moose, and the PTA for both Adams and Williams Junior High Schools. She was an avid bowler and loved to knit, especially Christmas stockings. She is survived by her two Sons: Steven Richter of Gainsville, FL, Joseph (Retta) Richter of Davenport; two Grandchildren: Diane and Joseph “Jody”; three Great-grandchildren: Adrian, Morgan, Maverick; three Great-great-grandchildren; and a Brother: Joseph “Mike” (Pat) Klouda of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
