Caroline Carol C. Czerwinski Schiffke

Caroline C. Schiffke, 72, of LeClaire passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospital. Memorial service will be held 11:30AM Monday, June 13, 2011 at The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Bill Museum LeClaire, IA. Caroline was born December 6, 1938 in New Britain, CT, the daughter of Frances P. and Mary (Ropiak) Czerwinski. She was united in marriage to Robert Schiffke May 17, 1958 in Kensington, CT.

Caroline had been employed as a RN at Vera French Pine Knoll for several years, retiring in 1999. She also owned “Good Intentions” Ceramic studio in Walcott for many years. Caroline was very artistic and loved to paint, knit, and sew. She cherished the time spent traveling, especially when the ocean was part of the destination.

Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” Schiffke, LeClaire; daughters: Lynne Schiffke (Dave Hebbeln), Davenport, Deborah Pinczer, Davenport, Barbara (Todd) Meyer State Center, IA, Sara Schiffke, Clinton, IA; grandchildren, Michael Schiffke, Sam (Kayla) Hollars, CPL. Marcus Pinczer, Jacob Meyer, Nicole and Patrick Duffey, Lori Butterbrodt, Lecia Remley; 8 great grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Ewer, CT; brother, Frank (Suzanne) Czerwinski, CT and David (Suzanne) Czerwinski, CT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Richie Frederick, brother-in-law, Robert Ewer.
