

Charles was born on November 28, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of John Ivan and Doris Mae (Connell) Briegel. He married Sherri Gilmore on June 12, 1976 in Algona, Iowa. Chuck attended Ellsworth Community College with an Associate’s Degree and Iowa State University graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture. Charles worked for Soenke and Wayland, Tim Downing and 23 years with Shive-Hattery in Moline where he was certified in Leadership Energy Environmentalist Design (LEED) and as a Construction Specifier.He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir and had been involved with many different committees throughout the years. Charles was also a member of North Scott Rotary, American Institute of Architects, and Salvation Army. He was a past president of North Scott Rotary and was currently acting as assistant district governor for district 6000. Chuck had a strong faith and commitment to his church, North Scott Rotary and his community. With his handy man nature he was was always willing to help others, especially with neighborhood snow removal and projects. His family was of the utmost importance to him and he was very patient and loving father & husband. Survivors include wife Sherri; daughter Amy, son Thomas, sister Mary O’Neill, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
