David learned Bible truths from his parents from an early age, and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at age 9. He served in the pioneer ministry for 22 years as a young adult and in retirement. He was an elder in congregations in Washington, DeWitt, Davenport Central, and Bettendorf, Iowa. He also enjoyed visiting fellow Witnesses in area hospitals as a member of the Patient Visitation Group.
He helped build many Kingdom Halls throughout the region and also volunteered on theocratic construction projects at world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York.
David loved taking short and long trips on his Honda Goldwing, and he and Janet enjoyed camping on the Mississippi River in their RV, often inviting others to join them around the campfire.
David had a solid faith in the biblical hope of the resurrection, when his God, Jehovah, will raise him up again to life in a future earthly paradise of peace.—Psalm 37:11; Acts 24:15
