

A private service will be held on Tuesday, 21st of October. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society.
Deanna was born in Davenport, IA on April 27th, 1937 to Lawrence and Virgina Frantz. Deanna attended Davenport High School and graduated in 1955. She was united in marriage to James Leroy Thomas on September 3rd, 1959 for 43 years until his passing in 2002. They would have three children together. For 33 years, Deanna's career and passion was dedicated to enriching the lives of many children through her home daycare program. This included her own five grandchildren, where she would host pizza and movie nights.
Deanna was an avid gardener, Elvis Presley fanatic, lover of chocolate bars, and was a well-traveled soul, with a great sense of humor. She was a devoted member of the Lutheran faith and was a child of God. She found solace and friendships within the community of New Hope Presbyterian Church. Deanna was an active philanthropist; lending her time at the River Bend Food Bank, serving meals at Salvation Army, educating children at Sunday school, and she always held an open heart to those in need.
Deanna is survived by her three children, Douglas Thomas, Brian (Darcy) Thomas, Lori (Bruce) Levetzow; five grandchildren, Eric (Habie) Levetzow, Justin (Jaclyn) Levetzow, Marissa (Nathan) Horner, Austin Thomas, Sarah Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Myla, Mariama and Logan.
Deanna is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Virgina Frantz, sister and brother in-law Sandra and Morris Barnhill, nephew Sean Barnhill.
