Cremation will be done with no services. Debbie will be greatly missed by her family.
Debbie was born on December 11, 1957, to James "Jim" Arpy and Edith (Beem) Arpy in Davenport, Iowa. Debbie had a difficult life because of injuries she received in an accident in 1975 that killed her mother and also injured two of her sisters and niece. Debbie was in a coma for quite some time and wasn’t expected to survive, or even to walk if she did live, but she overcame these struggles. She was a very strong willed person and she did whatever it took to live a life that made her happy. Debbie enjoyed writing poetry and she often went to the Writer's Club with her father, Jim. She was considered to be a pretty good poet. She liked to walk and often walked for miles at a time, mostly because she couldn’t drive due to the accident.
She did the best with what she had.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Crystal Aldeman; her brother Alan (Jana) Arpy; her sisters Diane Dohrn, Kathy Werkmeister, and Kristine Sharpe; her stepmom Barb Arpy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Edith (Beem) Arpy; her father James "Jim" Arpy; and her sister Terry Williamson.
A gathering to celebrate Debbie's life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 6 p.m. at her nephew's home at 1638 W. 16th Street, Davenport.
