

Donna M. Goodwin died suddenly March 14, 2026, at Genesis East hospital in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral service will be held Monday March 23 at 10:00 in the Runge Chapel. A visitation will be held on hour prior.At Donna’s insistence there will be a luncheon of remembrance following the service. Memorials may be made to Journey Christian Church.
She was born Donna Marie Baker in the family farmhouse in rural Davis County, Iowa, to Emma V. Weilbrenner Baker and Omar Ross Baker.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1961. She also graduated from the Iowa Success School in Ottumwa and attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa.
She married Roger Goodwin August 28, 1965, and recently told him they had just passed 60 ½ years of marriage. She began her work life with Prudential Insurance in Ottumwa. In 1968 the couple moved to Wichita, Kansas where she worked as the office manager and personal assistant to the Branch Manager. In 1970 they relocated to Des Moines, where she worked for Prudential Insurance as the Assistant Office Manager. In 1980, the city of Bettendorf beckoned the couple and they moved. Donna began working for John Deere Insurance, eventually becoming the secretary to the President and two Vice Presidents. She later moved to Deere and Company in the Human Resources Department.
She retired from Deere and Company in 2005, and the couple spent the next 17 winters at their condominium in Bonita Springs, Florida. Donna had many Florida friends and participated in many of the winter events like golf, and perhaps her favorite was Ladies Night Out. Donna was always full of energy and truly enjoyed her work and social friends.
She is preceded by her parents and brothers Eugene O. Baker (Alice) and Joe D. Baker (Karlene) and brother-in-law John Goodwin.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Goodwin, brothers-in-law Dr. Gary Goodwin of Keller, Texas and Dr. Max Goodwin (Judy) of Liberty, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
