Donna M. Spies, 76, of Davenport Iowa passed away on July 22, 2025, after an extended illness. A visitation will be held on Monday July 28, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary from 5pm to 7pm. She will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Donna’s name to your charity of choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Donna was born on January 29th, 1949, to Andrew V. and Rose M. Spies. One of ten children, Donna had many siblings to share her life with. She attended North Scott High School and worked for over 40 years as a bookkeeper. Donna enjoyed reading, old western shows, and Hallmark movies. She loved spending time with her family. Throughout her life, she cared for many nieces and nephews, and as the family expanded, she was always there to offer her love and support. Donna will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor Donna’s memory include her brothers Herb (Sue) Spies, Jerry (Joan) Spies; sisters Betty (Richard) Rock, Beverly (Ben) Johnson, Shirley Spies (Bob Sanchez), Barb (Jerry) Farmer, Debra (Gary) Clark, Linda Mason (Dave Cross), and many cousins,nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Susan I. Spies.
