Douglas Lee Bowman, 63, of Bettendorf, formerly of Monett, MO, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Manor Care in Davenport. Funeral services will be Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:00 am at Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 until the service time at the mortuary. Doug was born December 4, 1946 in Muscatine, IA, the son of Sherleigh R. and Vivian L. (Clark) Bowman. He served in the Marine Corps having done two tours in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Osbun on October 5, 1971 in Muscatine; she died November 15, 2000.
Doug lived many years in Monett, Missouri having worked for EFCO Company which was later bought out by Pella Corporation.
Those left to honor his memory include his brother, Larry (Virginia) Bowman, Milan, IL his mother, Vivian Bowman, Davenport, nieces: Julie (Scott) Cunningham, North Carolina and Laura (Brett) Beiter, St Louis, MO and five great nieces and nephews. His father and twin sister, Diane Bowman preceded him in death.
