Gerald “Jerry” Bentley, 82, of Davenport, IA passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Per his wishes he will be cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to Genesis Hospice or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Jerry was born January 24, 1935 to Leonard and Mary (Sumstine) Bentley. He served in the Air force for seven years and enjoyed the honor flight trip. Jerry was united in marriage to Catherine Bickett on February 14, 1981 in Omaha, NE. He drove semi-truck for twenty-seven years and worked at Lowe’s after his retirement.
He enjoyed travelling in his RV with his wife Cathy to National Parks, especially Yellowstone.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of thirty-six years, Cathy; children: Jim (friend, Sherri) Bentley, Missy (Dan) Dipple, Susan (Tim) Payne, Amy (Angel) Vargas; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and sisters: Elaine (Vic) Johnson, Marilyn (Bud) Barton and Marjorie (Bob) Deter.
