

Harlan Howard Shollenberger, 74, of Davenport, formerly of Eldridge, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be Monday, August 23, 2010 at 2:30 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Harlan was born June 5, 1936 in Davenport, the son of Howard and Irene (Nelson) Shollenberger. He was united in marriage to Shirley Hintermeister on March 6, 1955 in Davenport.
He worked for Strieter Motors for nearly thirty-eight years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed collecting antiques, watching NASCAR and attending stock car races. He belonged to St. Mark Lutheran Church, CASI, where he enjoyed ceramics and the Izaak Walton League.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Shirley, Davenport, daughters: Debbie (Art) Peppers, Donahue, IA, Vickie (Matt) Hanssen, Blue Grass, granddaughter, Leah (Chad) Andresen, Olathe, KS, step granddaughters: Bridget Hanssen, Davenport and Jessica Cannon, Oregon and great grandchildren: Keigan and Lauryn Andresen. His parents preceded him in death.
