

Harold E. “Bud” Faulkner, 66, of Bettendorf passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in the National Cemetery. Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Bud was born September 22, 1947, in Davenport the son of Harold J. and Doris A. (Hagenbart) Faulkner. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Mary (Emmie) Jecklin on June 22, 1968 in Dubuque, IA. He loved model trains and had a H.O. train set in his basement that he built. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, lightning storms, camping, photography, model airplanes, his guitar, working with stained glass and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being a handyman. He worked as a supplies attendant for Qwest Communications prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Communication Worker’s of America Union. Those honoring his life include his wife of 45 years, Mary (Emmie); his parents, Harold J. And Doris A. Faulkner; children: Lyn (Andy) Breedlove; Tina (Cliff) Carr; Kevin (Amy) Faulkner and Daniel (Theresa) Faulkner; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Dr. Steve and Leanne Faulkner; sister, Carol Jecklin; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold Leroy Faulkner and Genevieve Burk; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Angie Hagenbart.
