

Henry W. Keding, 92, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:30 am at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the mortuary.
Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Henry was born February 8, 1922 in Davenport; the son of Carl F. and Louisa (Schriefer) Keding. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Fern Lillian Essex on July 6, 1946 in Davenport.
Henry worked as carpenter for the Carpenter’s Union #4 from where he retired. He also had been employed at St. Ambrose University for ten years. He was a member of the Davenport American Legion Post #26, D.A.V. and St. Mark Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 67 years, Fern; children: Nancy Jo Briggs, Kahoka, MO; Linda Keding, Davenport; Carl, Davenport; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cheryle Engeland, one sister and three brothers.
