

Hilda A. Raap, 82, of Davenport, passed away peacefully June 28, 2016 at Ridgecrest Village. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Faith United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 in Koning Chapel at Ridgecrest and also for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, Faith United Church of Christ or Ridgecrest Village. Hilda was born on August 20, 1933 in McGregor, IA, the daughter of John W. and Marion (Eggen) Montgomery. She was united in marriage to John R. Raap on September 9, 1951 in Austin, MN. She worked for Petersen-Harned Von Maur and Kaybee Clothing where she sold clothes and did alterations.
Hilda was a severe Chicago Cubs fan and a Girl and Boy Scout leader for many years. She was involved in Edwards Congregational Church U.C.C. in Davenport along with the PTA and Dad’s Club at Monroe School.
Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 65 years, John; children, Teresa (Bob) King, Mary (Danny) Fox and Bill (Cindy) Raap, all of Davenport; sister, Leatrice Anderson, Durand, MI; grandchildren, Mike (Kathy) King, Ami Fox, Melissa King, Sarah (Jon) Rasler, Todd (Erika) Fox, Jill (fiancé, Eric Donoho) Raap and Kevin (Melissa) Raap and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Martin and Hilda Eggen.
