

Hollis E. Scriven, 68, of Davenport died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center West Campus after a brief illness. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family burial will follow at a later date. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Hollis Eugene Scriven was born on December 16, 1944 in Davenport, IA, the son of Arthur and Mildred (Hamilton) Scriven. Hollis graduated from Davenport West High School and later from St. Ambrose College with a degree in Business Administration. Hollis was a retired machinist, lastly being employed by the Rock Island Arsenal for two years before his permanent retirement. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and a car enthusiast. He loved stopping by the Village Inn on Harrison Street to gather and visit with friends.Survivors include his 2 Daughters: Julie Cavazos of Davenport, IA, and Robin (Jonathan) Hirsch of Hollywood, FL; a Son: Ryan (Angie) Scriven of Davenport; his Mother: Mildred Allison of Davenport; a Sister: Anita Watkins of Burlington, IA; Grandchildren: Brandon (Courtney) Scriven of Lebanon, MO, Brittany Scriven of North Hollywood, CA, Julia Cavazos of Sherman Oaks, CA, Hunter Scriven, Hannah Scriven, and Emma Scriven all of Davenport, Jackson Hirsch and Parker Hirsch of Hollywood, FL; Great-grandchildren: Jacob Scriven, Cody Scriven, and Cameron Scriven of Lebanon, MO and many nieces and nephews.Hollis was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, a brother Thomas Scriven, a Great-granddaughter, Alexia Grace, and a nephew, Mark Scriven.
