Ida Marie Harrington

Ida M. Harrington, 98, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday July 3, 2016 at the Davenport Eagles Club for family and friends. Online condolences can be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Ida was born to Harry and Marie (Veiths) Jehring on December 22, 1917 in Davenport, IA. She was united in marriage to John Laverne Harrington in Davenport, IA in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1977.

She was a loyal member of Davenport Eagles Club for 80 years. Her other memberships include: Eagle Drum and Bugle Corps, Davenport Turner Club, Turner Drum and Bugle Corps, German Pioneer Society, American Schleswig-Holstein Society where she sang in the ASHHS Choir and German American Heritage Center. Ida loved music and was a marvelous dancer. She was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and was known for her beautiful garden. She was proud of her family and grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include: daughter, Pat (Gerald) Harrington Bade, Davenport, IA; son Michael (Judy Freeman) Harrington, Marion, IA; grandchildren: Heather (Richard) Martin; Quinn (Valerie) Harrington; Kimberly Kloss; great grandchildren: Chloe Thompson, Maggie Martin, Abbie Martin, Anden Harrington, Abry Harrington and Ruby Harrington.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
