James W. Eckman, 85, of Bettendorf, formerly of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
James was born February 13, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Walter and Margaret (Lynch) Eckman. On July 1, 1951, he married Lois Brown in Springfield, IL. She preceded him in death April 1, 2008.
He was a World War II Naval veteran and a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by sons, Stephen (Carol) Eckman, Leawood, KS and Greg (Debra) Eckman, East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Hannah (Casey), Matthew, Joseph (Trista), Sarah and Elizabeth; and great grandson, Ezekiel Keller.
