

James “Jim” Arleigh Elliott, age 80, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Monday, August, 9, 2021 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House. Burial will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the All Vets Memorial in Davenport Memorial Park. At his request, there will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center, Davenport, IA.
Mr. Elliott was born November 8, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Arleigh Glenn and Lillian (Walsh-Rawson) Elliott. He married Donna Athmer on October 3, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton, Illinois.
Mr. Elliott served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1966. He was stationed in Greenland from 1961-1962. He then was employed at Valley Bolt Co., Davenport, from 1966 to 1981. He then went to work for the U.S. Army (TACOM-RI) at the Rock Island Arsenal as a Contract Specialist in Procurement, retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, working with computers, listening to music from the 1940’s and 1950’s, and especially enjoyed time with his dog, Abby.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Gary Decker, of Davenport, IA; son, Jim Elliott, of Davenport, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Hagen, of Breese, IL.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; brother, Donald Keith Rawson; and sister, Rosemary Rawson Clifton.
