James “Jim” E. Gerboth, 94, formerly of LeClaire, Iowa passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at his home in Port Byron with his loving family by his side. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will begin at 10am. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to the LeClaire Baptist Church.
Jim was born on June 24, 1930 in Davenport, Iowa to Albert and Winifred Gerboth. He was in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Jim worked at ALCOA for 35 years before he retired in 1985. He was united in marriage to Donna White on October 9, 1953; she preceded him in passing in 2021. Jim was a member of the LeClaire Baptist Church for many years. Following his retirement, Jim enjoyed other kinds of “work” such as yard work and helping others. He also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Family was very important to Jim, and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor Jim’s memory are his children Ronda Stuckey, Brian (Linda) Gerboth, Kevin (Karen) Gerboth, Keith (Naomi) Gerboth, and Julie (Daniel) Hantz; along with many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents Albert and Winifred; and siblings Alberta, Helen, Wesley, and Stanley.
