James B. Jardine

Funeral services for James B. Jardine, 78, of Bettendorf will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet from 2:00 p.m. until the service time at the mortuary. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, IN. Mr. Jardine passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his residence.James Barthold Jardine was born on December 8, 1933 in New York, NY, the son of Alexander and Marie (Michaelsen) Jardine. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1960, James graduated from New York University with a Bachelors Degree in Business. On November 17, 1962, he married Arlene Johnson in Milwaukee, WI. She preceded him in death in 1979. James worked in foil mill sales at Alcoa prior to his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bettendorf and Kiwanis in South Bend, IN. James enjoyed traveling and had attended several Formula One races, including races in Italy, China, and Canada.He is survived by his three children: James (Laura) Jardine, Jr. of Davenport, IA, Peter (Julie) Jardine of Omaha, NE, Elizabeth (James) Neild of Lakeville, MN; and 6 Grandchildren: Jamie and Amelia Neild of Lakeville, MN, Ellen and Alex Jardine of Davenport, Bennett and Lauren Jardine of Omaha, NE.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alexander Jardine, Jr.Memorials may be directed to NYU Stern School of Business, in care of Julie Lucas (212) 998-4161 or [email protected].
