Jan Renee Bell, 62, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Genesis East Medical Center with her loving family by her side. A memorial service to honor Jan’s memory will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Visitation will from 11- 12:30 PM before the service. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery following the service. Memorials in Jan’s name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Jan was born in 1956 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Clair and Alice Odell. She graduated from Graettinger High School in 1975 and later went to Sawyer Business College in Davenport. Jan was united in marriage to Roger Bell on October 14, 1978 in Davenport, Iowa; he preceded her in death on September 4, 1997. Jan was a medical transcriptionist at Genesis Medical Center and at Medquist. She enjoyed sewing, reading, doing counted cross-stitch, and listening to music. Jan also enjoyed playing the piano and flute in her free time. She loved to create many beautiful things and loved to be surround by beautiful things. Jan was a member at the Christ United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the hand bell choir.
Those left to honor Jan’s memory are her parents, Clair and Alice Odell; her siblings Martin (Barbara) Odell, Karen Crees, and Paul Odell; nieces and nephews: Jeremy (Jenny) Crees, Angela (John) Pacha, John Petersen, and Heather Petersen; and great nieces and nephews: Drew, Chase, Cole, Clara, Caleb, Blaise, Cooper, Jordan, Saxon, Jonathon, and Kirsten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger.
