Janet Huffman Chavis

Janet Huffman Chavis, 65, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 in Davenport. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Janet was born October 20, 1948 in Davenport; the daughter of Hubert and Betty (Schafer) Huffman. Janet was a life-long caretaker and loved taking care of her family; especially taking great joy in caring for her mother. She loved to play bingo. She was proud of her grandchildren and loved being a grandmother. Janet also loved to travel and was a very loving mom, grandma and sister. She also was an avid Elvis fan.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Donald Chavis, Jr, Angela (Kyle) Stoltenberg, Rhonda Chavis and Crystal (Justin) Beverlin; siblings: Louie Huffman, Jim Huffman, Teri Huffman, Holly Huffman and Rodney Huffman; grandchildren: Tyler Storment, Drew Chavis, Nicole Johnson, Chandra Stoltenberg, Wesley Seibel, Joey Stoltenberg and Tylisha Owens; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Burgess Craig, brother, Tony, and her exhusband, Donald Chavis, Sr.
