A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. The family will greet guests from 1:00pm to service time. Janice was born August 26, 1938 in Eldridge, MO to Cecil & Genevieve (Mosier) Bryant. She was united in marriage to her husband of 54.5 years, William “Bill” Soncarty on April 14, 1967. He preceded her in death in 2021.
Janice was a bank teller and later worked as a bookkeeper with Bettendorf Bank. She went back to school to become a beautician working at a salon for a while and then out of her home. She loved this job because she was a social person who never met a stranger, was a good listener, and never forgot you once she met you. Janice had a strong faith and was active in several churches over the years. She enjoyed crochet, crafting, gardening, and walking. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Janice was very loving wife, mother, & grandmother.
Survivors include son Chuck (Chris) Soncarty; 4 grandchildren Bennett, Campbell, Lucas, and Emmelia Soncarty; 2 sisters; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister, 2 brother-in-laws.
