Jeanette J. Feeney Reid

Jeanette Jane Reid, 95, of Long Grove, passed away in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 am until the service at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Jeanette was born January 2, 1918 in Davenport, IA; the daughter of John and Veiva (Jacobs) Feeney. She was united in marriage to Lloyd W. Reid on March 29, 1952; he preceded her in death on June 10, 2009. She was a farmer’s wife and loving homemaker for over sixty years. She was an avid bird watcher, flower gardener, cake decorator and was the best baker ever. Jeanette loved her children and grandchildren. She also loved her kitties, Symba and Precious who slept with her every night; they were her life-lines.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Georgia (Clyde) Robinson, Arizona; Terry Garrow, Davenport; Donnie (Deny) Garrow, Washington State; Sue (Sam) Cooksey, Debbie (Kevin) Harms and Becky (Alan) Swanson, all of Davenport and Skipper (Kathy) Reid, Long Grove; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren and brothers, Jack Feeney, Davenport and Jimmy Feeney, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Keith Robinson and brothers: Bobby, Louie and Sterling.
