Jerry Leo Wood, 71, of Davenport, Iowa passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Runge Mortuary. Jerry was born in Rock Island, Illinois on July 3, 1951; he was the youngest of three boys. He was married to Donna Walleske on February 5, 1991 in Davenport. Jerry was a loving defender of family, a great card player, and lived an honorably simple life. If you were a friend of his, it was a true friendship. If you had a need, he had the will.
Jerry worked in tree removal for the majority of this life, but also enjoyed doing roofing jobs to help friends and family. Jerry had mechanical skills that many desire but few possess. He was always quick with a joke and a firm handshake that won’t be forgotten.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Donna Wood; brothers, Richard (Bettendorf) and Randy (Rock Island); sons, Jason (Wichita, KS) and Matt and wife Britta (Kingston Springs, TN); and grandsons, Grayson, Gibson, Gatlin, Garin, and Gaxtin.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Joe Wood.
