John W. Eldredge

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, July 25, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00am. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. John was born October 13, 1937 to Ben and Lillian (Parsons) Eldredge in Rockford, IL. John graduated in 1956 from Davenport High School. He was married to Sharon Housley, they had 3 daughters, and later divorced. On March 29, 1986 he married Jerrilea Thayer Nicholson in Davenport, IA. John worked for Alcoa for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He then worked cutting yards and driving a van for Bettendorf Schools.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jerrilea “Jay” Eldredge; daughters, Cindy Craft, Elizabeth (Jon) George, and Michelle Eldredge, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Karlie (Trevor) Gannon, Leah (Kyle) Ross, Jacob George, Alex Craft, and Kaylee Wilkins; great grandchildren, Adrian Miracle and Ariel Gannon; step-children, Brenda Nicholson, Wendy (Ed) Essary, Troy (Leanne) Nicholson, and Dana Nicholson; step-grandchildren, Aaron Nicholson, Meghan (Michael) Logan, Connor (Tamara) Essary and Halley Nicholson; step-great grandchildren, Allison and Odessa Nicholson; and nephew, Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Ben Eldredge; and step-daughter, Julie Nicholson.
