Joe Davis Faison Sr., 94, of Davenport passed away on March 2, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Weerts Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to noon with Funeral Services to directly follow. Joe was born on July 18, 1927 in Atmore, Alabama to Boss and Mamie (McNeal) Faison. Joe began his working career at the Rock Island Arsenal, then International Harvester. He retired after 34 years as a skilled laborer. He was passionate about cars. When not at work, you could find him in his garage showing his children and anyone who walked by or willing to learn how to buy, work on, and sell cars. Joe was a hard worker and a jack-of-all-trades. He also had an interest in property and owned houses and apartment buildings around town. He was a knowledgeable man and was known for always working on something.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children Johnny Lee Faison, Joe (Margaret) Faison Jr, Betty Brown, Cathy (Anthony) Baccous, Michael (Esther) Faison, Elaine (AB) Bradford, Darryl (Elizabeth) Faison, Janice Washington, Cathy (Shelby) Jack, Amy Moore(William), Mamie (Durane) John, Tyree Moore, Tyrone (Kimberly) Moore; stepchildren James (Missi) Williams, Robert Williams, Linda Williams, Glenda (Bennett) Bundy, Emma Moore, Chris Moore, Jeff (Angie) Moore, Jennifer Moore, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, loving sister Corrine Harris, and brother Frank Faison, and life partner, Mittie Moore.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles Faison and Boss Faison.
Known as "Poppa Joe" to some, but as "Mr. Joe" to most, we will miss you dearly.
