Judy was born in Burlington, IA, on April 25, 1964, to Robert J. Reed and Sandra L. (Moran) Mincks. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa Wesleyan University. While in college, Judy supported herself by working as a CNA and enjoyed it so much she decided to obtain her licensed practical nursing degree from SW Community College in Burlington. She worked for the former Manor Care Nursing Home along with the Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Facility.

Judy loved taking care of others and was named as one of the “Outstanding Women of America.” In earlier years, she was active in the churches she attended, most recently Heritage Church in Bettendorf. Being a pet lover, Judy will be dearly missed by her fur babies, dog, Baby Girl and cat, Winston. In honor of Judy’s love for butterflies, her nieces got butterfly tattoos to remember her by.
