Kathryn was born July 7, 1928 in Geneseo, IL; the daughter of Joseph Lee and Margaret Joanna (Haack) Young. She was united in marriage to Lloyd T. Owens on June 8, 1947 in Wilton, IA; he preceded her in death in 1980.

She had worked as a sales clerk for DB Donuts for twelve years. She also worked for Popcorn Charlie’s, Mister Donut on Brady Street and the Former Turnstyle Department Store. She also volunteered at Genesis West Gift Shop. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting. Her family and friends were her passion and delight.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Theresa (Larry) Vogt, Carol Jean Speer and Dicky (Pamela) Owens all of Davenport; grandchildren: Michelle, Wendy, Jami, Jessica, Joshua, Jake and Mitch and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister and brother-in-law and a son-in-law.
