

Lisa Lynn Johannsen, 59, of Blue Grass passed away Monday, 9th 2026, in Blue Grass. A Celebration of Life is planned on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 from 12 pm until 5 pm at the Blue Grass American Legion.
Lisa was born on July 14, 1966, in Jacksonville, FL. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to Independence, MO and later moved to Buffalo, Iowa in the 1970’s. She graduated from Davenport West High School and went on to receive her associates degree in American Sign Language, receiving her Phi Beta Kappa honor for academic achievement.
She worked as an interpreter for various entities including the Muscatine School system. Currently she was a warehouse manager for Alter Metal Recycling in Davenport where she had worked for over 15 years.
She loved crafts of all kinds especially crocheting as well as camping, kayaking and spending time with her favorite canine “daughter” Gracie. Always staying active, Lisa also ran the Bix and several other 5k races.
She was a proud member of the United Brachial Plexus Network (UBPN) in honor of her granddaughter Finnley.
Those left to continue her legacy include her devoted husband, Michael, children: Corey Johannsen, Clint (Amanda) Johannsen, Clark (Amy) Johannsen, Whitney (Andrew) Sizenbach and Sarah (Tanner) McCulley; grandchildren: Hannah Johannsen, Isaac Kimball, Carter Johannsen, Chelsea Johannsen, Finnley Felske and Caleb Johannsen; great granddaughter, Elena Johannsen, stepbrothers, Curt and Chris Geeding of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Nicole Neil and nephew, Lance Neil both of Texas. Her parents, Sid and Vicki Geeding and brother, Glen Neil preceded her in death.
