Lloyd J. Carter

A Celebration of Life for Lloyd J. Carter, 76, of Blue Grass, IA will be held at a later date. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Mr. Carter passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. Inurnment will be at a later date. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements. Lloyd Junior Carter was born on January 1, 1938 the son of Lloyd and Florence (Snyder) Carter. On May 11, 1957, he married Sharon Kay Moore in Muscatine, IA. She preceded him in death in 2011. Together they owned and operated Chariton Lanes and Recreation in Chariton, IA. After retiring in 2000, Lloyd and Sharon moved to Blue Grass. He is survived by two Children: Debora (Johnny) Davis of Blue Grass, IA, Richard (Marilyn) Carter of Chariton, IA; five Sisters: Annabelle (Ed) Weikert, Rosemary (Al) Davis, Donna Danner, Sandy Shaw, Linda (David) Bradley; two Brothers: Leonard (Tammy) Carter, Robert Carter; 4 Grandchildren: Amber (Adam) Davis-Timmerman of Davenport, Kiah Carter of Chariton, IA, Carly Carter of Chariton, IA, Austin Davis of Blue Grass, IA; and 3 Great-Grandchildren: Hunter Timmerman, Drake Patterson, Peyton Patterson. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a Son: Douglas Carter; a Sister: JoAnn Phillips; and a Brother: William Eisele. Memorials may be directed to the family.
