Marcella Smith

Private funeral services for Marcella Smith, 95, of Davenport, were held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Burial followed at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. There was no public visitation. Mrs. Smith died on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Crest Health Care Center in Davenport.Mary Marcella Schupp was born on March 22, 1917 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Stoltenberg) Schupp. After her graduation from Davenport High School she married Kenneth R. Smith on August 28, 1948 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1975.Mrs. Smith worked for 17 years at the Royal Neighbors of America, first as a computer programmer and lastly in the capacity of Deputy Supreme Recorder. She retired in 1982. Marcella was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, loved to sew, read, and keep up with national and world news.Surviving members of the family include - a Daughter: Melissa (Norm) Korte of Bettendorf; a Son: Stan (Anne) Smith of Thousand Oaks, CA; and 4 Grandchildren: Laura, Ben, David, and Will.Those preceding her in death include her parents, her husband, a sister, Anna Belle, and a brother, Richard.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Music Department.
