Visitation will be 4-8PM Wednesday (2/15) at the Runge Mortuary with funeral services to be held 11:30AM Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Marilyn was born March 10, 1955 in Clinton, IA to John & Betty (Dierksen) Carter. She was united in marriage to John Quijas February 1, 1993 in Davenport, IA. Marilyn had been employed at Brown Traffic Products Inc. for the past 12 years. She was also a homemaker and loving mother. She enjoyed reading, hiking, bowling, sewing, singing & listening to music, spending time with her friends and family, & living life to the fullest. Survivors include her husband John Quijas, Davenport; 4 children Justin Carter, Austin, TX, Jessica (Jon) Weible, Bettendorf, Serena Quijas, Davenport, John Quijas II, Davenport; 1 grandchild Michael Weible, Bettendorf; mother Betty Carter, Davenport; siblings & spouses Gary Carter, Phoenix, Barbara (John) Goossen, David Carter, Sharon (Scott) Ybarra, Randy Carter, & Debra (Dan) Gullion, all of Davenport, Scott (Justine) Carter, Albuquerque; and many nieces & nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by a brother Richard Carter.
