Mary was born May 28, 1947, to Robert and Florence (Orman) Lewis in Ottumwa, IA. She graduated from Ottumwa High School. On June 2, 1967, Mary was united in marriage to Dave Jorth in Ottumwa. Together, they had three children, Trina, Mack, and Alex. Raising her family was the most important thing to Mary. Her children and grandchildren always came first. Mary worked at Mother’s Day Out Preschool at St. Edwards United Church of Christ where she loved teaching the kids. She also worked as a Sales Consultant for Longaberger Baskets for several years. Mary was a member of Red Hat Society and several bunco and bridge clubs. She always enjoyed making friends throughout the many social events she would attend. As most of Mary’s friends will remember, Mary became the go-to person when needing assistance with shopping or interior decorating.
Mary will be missed by her husband, Dave; children: Trina (Mike) Meehan, Mack (Susie) Jorth, and Alex (Michael Ursua) Jorth; grandchildren: Jack, Edie, Hannah and Theo; and two brothers: David (Ann) Lewis and Mark (Debbie) Lewis.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter in infancy, Christen.
