She was born on November 10, 1932 in Long Grove, Iowa to Edward Henry and Dora (Scheel) Lage.
Mary attended Scott County schools and was a long-time employee of Davenport Newspapers and North Scott Schools.
Mary married Cecil “Buck” Weaver February 25, 1981 at the First Baptist Church of Davenport. They were deeply devoted to one another.
Mary was famous for her Hello Dolly dessert and her Watergate salad. She loved Buck, her family, her duties as Aunt Teents, purses, scarves, jewelry, stuffed animals and her beloved dog Tennie.
Survivors include three sisters Betty Lynch of Davenport, Shirley DeWulf of Eldridge, and Dorothy Beert and her husband Bob of Eldridge and one brother Bob Lage of Long Grove. She was the much loved “Aunt Teents” to many nieces, nephews and their families. She will be cherished by Buck’s children, Celia and Deborah and their families, known by them as the fun-loving “MJ”; the Celia and Phil Williams family of Liberty, Missouri and the Deborah and Walt Lind family of Houston, Texas.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 26 years, Cecil Cullen “Buck” Weaver, sister-in-law Marlene Lage, and brothers-in-law Don Lynch and Don DeWulf.
We thank Silvercrest Assisted Living and the Kahl Home for her care.
