Mikel Ralph Potts

Mikel R. Potts, 65, of Davenport, Iowa passed away, Monday, November 6, 2023. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9am – 10:30am at Weerts Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his parents at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials in Mikel’s name may be made to the Vera French Community Mental Health Center or the Handicapped Development Center.

Mikel was born on May 5, 1958 in Davenport, Iowa to Ralph and May Lee Potts. He loved to sit in his recliner and watch old TV shows like “I Love Lucy” and “Bewitched”. Mikel was a collector of car magazines and loved to go for rides through car dealerships to look at new cars and pick up flyers about new cars. He had been a long time resident of the Vera French Residential Program until his health started to decline and he moved to Harmony Nursing Home.

Those left to honor his memory are his friends and staff from Vera French CMHC, the Handicapped Development Center, and Harmony Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary Lee and his brother Charles.
