

Norman “Skeet” L. Fersch, 74, of Davenport passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at his residence. In honoring Skeet’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements.Norman LeRoy Fersch was born on December 9, 1940 in Scott Co., IA, the son of Norman and Iva (Johnson) Fersch. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy, serving as a boiler tender 2nd Class until his honorable discharge in 1962. In 1987, Skeet married Roberta “Bobbie” Fallow in Davenport. For nearly 50 years, he worked as a Sheet Metal Journeyman for Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 91. He retired in 1993. Skeet was an avid fisherman and enjoyed keeping busy by tinkering with whatever was broken (or not broken in many cases). He is survived by his Wife: Bobbie Fersch of Davenport; two Sons: Scott (Roni) Fersch of Ft. Madison, IA, Trey Fersch of Davenport; a Step-Daughter: Sandy (Rich) Stempinski of Vandalia, IL; a Sister: Betty Brugeman of Grand Junction, CO; three Grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Amy; a Great-Granddaughter: Brenna; and his faithful Canine fishing companion: Matilda.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Chung Kim’s Black Belt Academy Scholarship Fund, 1423 18th St., Bettendorf. Skeet was extremely supportive and proud of both his wife and youngest son for achieving their 5th degree and 3rd degree Black Belts, respectively.
