Peter John Lelonek Sr.

Peter J. Lelonek Sr., 73, of Davenport passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital Davenport. As per his wishes, a cremation has been performed. Pete was born May 3, 1938 in Davenport, IA to Max & Dorothea (Fries) Lelonek. He was united in marriage to Marcia Wylie on August 1, 1959 in Davenport. Pete & his wife had owned & operated Rainbow Flower Shop in West Davenport for 36 years prior to their retirement in 2002. Pete had a very friendly personality and was always willing to stop and talk. Conversations often revolved around his favorite past times including hunting, fishing, wine making, & smoked fish. He had very strong love for his family, especially his grandchildren & his best friend Buster. Pete will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife Marcia Lelonek, Davenport; children Peter (Julie) Lelonek Jr., Ames, IA, Todd (Megan) Lelonek, Davenport, Lisa (Kevin) Bein, Davenport, Heather (Don) Brady, Dixon, IA; 7 grandchildren Anthony, Brianna, Beau, Austin, Alex, Andi, & Bailie with an eighth grandchild expected in June; 1 great grandson Jaxson, sister Kitty Heller, Springfield, IL; and several nieces & nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents & 2 brothers Max Carl Lelonek & Dr. Robert Lelonek.
