Pastor Reginald D. Allen was born on January 11, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Hugh and Elizabeth Allen. He was raised in the Woodlawn area of Chicago alongside his siblings Elaine, Michael, Derrick, and four siblings who preceded him in death: Rick, Thomas, Katie, and Vinson. From an early age, Reginald developed a love for family, community, and basketball—his favorite sport—with Michael Jordan as his all-time favorite player.
In 1984, Reginald was blessed with his first son, Reggie Allen, Jr., a role that ignited his lifelong devotion to fatherhood. He later earned his high school diploma and continued his education at Blackhawk College, where he gained valuable life skills that shaped his personal and professional journey.
On November 18, 1995, Reginald was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Bridgett Allen, at Indiana Avenue Pentecostal Church of God, officiated by Bishop Charles E. Davis. From this union came two sons, Brandon and Elijah Allen, and Reginald proudly embraced a bonus daughter, Marquita Butler. The Allen family exemplified God’s divine order, love, and structure. As a husband and father, Reginald was devoted, wise, and strong. Known affectionately as the “King of Moline,” he treated family like royalty and gave the best of himself at all times.
In 2006, Reginald answered the call to ministry and founded It’s About Change Apostolic Ministries. As an ordained minister, he preached with fire under the power of the Holy Ghost, dedicating his life to seeing lives transformed through faith in God. His own testimony of change fueled his passion for helping others.
In 2016, Reginald expanded his mission by becoming the owner and CEO of Quad Cities Intervention Services, where he was licensed and certified by the State of Illinois to provide counseling for individuals battling alcohol and drug addiction. His work reflected his unwavering belief that change is always possible.
Inspired by his journey, Reginald adopted the middle name “Determine,” symbolizing perseverance, resilience, and faith. He instilled these values in his children, often emphasizing “Family Business” and reminding them that God was his greatest legacy.
Reginald found joy in life’s simple moments, enjoying classic television shows that reflected the values he cherished—faith, family, and love.
Pastor Reginald D. Allen leaves a legacy of faith and unconditional love. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Bridgett Allen; four children, Reggie Allen, Jr., Marquita (Xavier) Butler, Brandon Allen, and Elijah Allen; three siblings; three grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives, friends, and church family.
