Robert E. McElwee III, 59, Wyoming, IA passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be for two hours prior at the Mortuary. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Rob was born on September 13, 1956 in Kansas. He was the son of Robert and Gwen (Jenkins) McElwee II. He was a former police officer in Kansas, later worked for the Boeing Company and most recently worked at the Bennett Machine and Fabricating Company in Anamosa.
Rob loved to play golf and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He had a playful personality, was stubborn and quite the talker. He loved his children very much, and always tried to be in their lives.
Survivors include his son Ty (Beth) McElwee, Davenport; daughter, Lissa Weiss, San Diego, CA; grandchildren Lauren Weiss, IL and Gabrielle Kathryn Pecoraro, San Diego
.He was preceded in death by his parents.
