Robert “Bob” Paper, 83, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Harmony at Utica Ridge. Friends are invited to come and share memories with his family on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4 – 6pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Bob was born on January 2, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa; he was adopted at a young age by Herb and Fern Paper. Bob earned his Master’s degree in social work and worked as a Social Worker for 45 years in the Quad Cities. He was an avid enjoyer of music and in his younger years enjoyed playing the drums. Bob was an outdoorsman, he loved to golf and spending time outside. He also enjoyed spending time buried in a good book, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and Chicago Bears. Bob loved his family and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory are his four children Nicki Paper, Scott Paper, Jeff Paper, and Pam McCaughey; step-daughters Stacey Struck and Kristen Bakken; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Doug; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, former wives Frances Deniston and Carol Coomer; brothers Lyle and Ron; and sister Connie.
