Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 12, at Grace United Methodist Church, Davenport. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Robert was born the son of James and Sarah (Bond) Tucker on April 13, 1923, in Columbus Junction, IA. On August 18, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Darling in Davenport, IA. During his life he served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, and retired from Ideal Mechanical Contractors in 1988.
Robert enjoyed traveling and going on Tri State bus tours. He was a member of the Black Hawk Hiking Club, on the Grace United Methodist bowling team for over 50 years, and loved spending time with his church family. At his church he formerly served as an usher, treasurer, choir member, trustee chairperson, and on the building committee for the current church.
Those left cherishing his memory are his son, Steven Tucker, Davenport, IA; daughter, Debra (Gary) Boland, Bel Air, MD; grandchildren: Kelly (Jay) Farmer, Columbia, MD, Daniel Boland, Abingdon, MD, and Kerry Boland, Richmond, VA; great granddaughter, Ainsley Farmer, Columbia, MD; and sister, Mary Henrick, Mountain Home, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Dorothy Tucker; three brothers; and a sister.
