

Funeral services for Roger L. Lundgren, age 69, of Davenport, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. Burial and graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Friends wishing to attend should meet at the mortuary by 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Mr. Lundgren died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.Roger Lee Lundgren was born on June 23, 1939, to Alden and Esther (Gustafson) Lundgren in Little Falls, MN. Roger was a 1957 graduate of Davenport High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Murray. Following his military obligations, he married Barbara J. McKown on November 9, 1963, in Davenport, Iowa. He also began his career with the Iowa-American Water Company as a customer service representative retiring in 1999 after 35 years of service.Mr. Lundgren was a member of the Viking Club of Moline, Davenoprt Elks, Davenport Eagles, the Moose Lodge, and Davenport American Legion Post #26. He was an avid Green Bay Packer, Atlanta Braves, and Hawkeye fan. He loved all people, enjoyed traveling, cruising, country music and spending time in Las Vegas, Elko, NE.Survivors include - his Wife: Barbara of Davenport; his Daughter: Mitzi (Jason) Wagner of Bettendorf; a Sister: June (Gene) Koble of Bettendorf; 2 Brothers: Gary (Joyce) Lundgren of Davenport, and Dennis (Carol) Lundgren of Ballwin, MO; 3 Grandchildren: Michelle, Jessie, and Justin; 4 Nieces and Nephews:Deb Lundgren, Krisan Koble, Greg Koble, and Darren Lundgren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Esther.Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the Make A Wish Foundation.
